De Soysa Challenge Trophy

This year proved an ‘Annus Mirabilis’ in the annals of Cadeting at St. Peter’s. The Junior Cadets under Lt. G. J. Stephen, won the De Soysa Challenge Trophy for Squad Drill. In August at the annual Senior Cadet Camp at Diyatalawa, St. Peter’s Senior Cadets, under Lt. J. P. E. Dias, won the Millers Cup for shooting by a handsome margin and was placed First in Squad Drill and First in General Smartness. The platoon was very unfortunate to lose the ‘Herman Loos’ Cup for All Round Efficiency by a very narrow margin of three points, after having scored 754 points out of a possible 1000 points.
